Also known as TSA or Trypticase Soy Agar, Tryptic Soy Agar is used for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious and nonfastidious microorganisms. This medium can be used for a wide variety of purposes including maintenance of stock cultures, plate counts and microorganism isolation of a range of specimens. It is also used for testing bacterial contaminants in cosmetics. The addition of blood can be used for the visualization of hemolytic reactions produced by various bacterial species. The addition of Tween 80 (Polysorbate 80) and/or Lecithin, is used for environmental monitoring as they inactivate disinfectant residue. Whether you need a general-purpose, nonselective media or you need added blood to facilitate a more fasitdious bacterial lawn for the detection of hemolytic reactions, we have several products to choose from. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB), also known as Soybean-Casein Digest (SCD) Medium, is a general nutrient and enrichment broth. It is used in qualitative procedures for the cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms and is also recommended for sterility testing. TSB is recommended for use as the inoculum broth for disc diffusion and agar dilution antimicrobial susceptibility testing by the CLSI. Buffered Charcoal Yeast Extract Agar with Glycine, Polymyxin B, Vancomycin, and Cycloheximide (BCYE-GPVC) is a selective, non-differential medium for the isolation and presumptive identification of Legionella species. L-cysteine HCl, ferric pyrophosphate and alpha-ketoglutarate provide nutrients required by Legionella species. Activated charcoal decomposes hydrogen peroxide, which is a toxic metabolic biproduct, while also collecting CO2 and modifying surface tension of the media. ACES buffer helps maintain the proper pH for optimal growth. Tryptic Soy Agar with Lecithin and Tween80 (TSA w/LT) is a non-selective and non-differential medium utilized for the detection and enumeration of microorganisms present on surfaces and in areas of sanitary importance. Prepared plates are utilized for environmental monitoring within biologically controlled environments. These plates are suitable for active and passive air sampling (settle/settling plates) as well as for personnel monitoring of fingertips (Finger Dabs). Lecithin is utilized to neutralize quaternary ammonium compounds.
